Primary school children should make tracks to the Tokio Millennium Re Youth Mountain Bike Series on Saturday, January the 4th.
The exciting sporting event for youngsters will be held at the impressive Montpelier Arboretum. This is a beautiful park in Devonshire Parish measuring 20 acres. The Tokio Millennium Re Youth Mountain Bike Series will be kicking off at 4pm there in the afternoon.
2014 sees this electrifying sporting event for primary school children celebrate its 8th anniversary. January marks the final stops on a series of seven races which began in November. There will be races held at the same time, 4pm, on January the 4th, the 11th, the 18th and the 25th. The event is free to enter and now features an exciting adventure course for advanced riders. There will be a bike swap on the 11th of January and a skills demo on the 18th. Riders are of course required to wear helmets and sport shoes at all times, which they must supply themselves.
The Tokio Millennium Re Youth Mountain Bike Series encourages the youth of Bermuda to be more physically active and take up bicycling. The race is designed to make healthy living fun, while encouraging healthy competition. Children can either ride BMXs or mountain bikes, but a parent or guardian must sign a waiver before they can compete. The series will conclude with a competitor being chosen at random to be the grand prize winner. They will receive a brand new bike from the famous bike shop Bicycle Works.
