Keep up to date with company news, specials and our unique take on things in Bermuda

The Polaris Restaurant At Carriage House is a thrilling new bistro in St. George, Bermuda. It has taken the place of the classic Carriage House Restaurant, which stood since 1970.

The eatery in its former incarnation was forced to close its doors. The restaurant has now moved to the fabulous Carriage House, having left the St. George’s Dinghy & Sports Club.

The new restaurant in Polaris is positioned in the vicinity of Somers Wharf. It is adjacent to the St. George’s Harbour and affords stunning ocean views. You can sit at a table by the window or relax on the porch. The premises have undergone vast modelling, but kept its celebrated interior design and atmosphere. This is partly what made the restaurant so well liked by visitors and the populace equally. The brick walled, high ceiling restaurant is fresh and well-ventilated, making for a tranquil, enjoyable experience.

The old Carriage House Restaurant has personal significance for its proprietor, Abdul Amjath. The owner had sought employment there when setting off on his career. This culinary expert maintains the bistro’s high standards by putting out a formidable menu, worthy of the name.

The former Carriage House used to be a warehouse. When horse drawn carriages were replaced with engine powered transportation, this was where they were stored. That is how the restaurant got its name. It has witnessed one important transition in history, and has now seen another.

I got the kuma kuma maki roll (tuna, mango, avocado roll tempura fried). The roll was very good.
