The month of March marks the beginning of the 2013 cruise ship season in Bermuda. It will see a fleet of fabulous vessels calling on the island over the course of the year. The season will get under-way in style with the arrival of the Azamara Quest.
The R class craft has been in the service of Azamara Cruises for almost six years now. It was originally constructed in 2000 and, in its time, has been laid up and has passed through many different owners. That is until it became the propriety of Azamara Cruises, in October 2007.
This compact, but luxury craft has 11 decks, 9 of which are open to the public. It can carry a maximum of 702 passengers and has a crew of 408. The ship is also 181.00 m (593 ft 10 in) in length, and can reach speeds of up to 18 knots.
The awe inspiring cruise ship will be making its inaugural call on Bermuda this season on March the 17th. It will dock at Ham 5/6 berth, in Hamilton, at 10 am. You could have a happy Saint Patrick’s Day indeed, when you disembark the vessel and take a tour of Bermuda. Visitors could breathe in the beautiful island scenery. They could also have something to eat, or drink a pint of Guinness, in one of the many local restaurants and bars. This is before the ship departs at 5 pm.
Tourists could have a fun day out on the island. It will be the perfect opening to the 2013 cruise ship season, when you travel to Bermuda on the Azamara Quest.
